The School Day

School officially starts for children at
9:00am
but they have ‘walking in time’ from 8:50am.

Registration closes at
9:10am
any child entering school after this time must do so by
the main office and will be marked as late on the register.

We ask parents to park responsibility when dropping off and collecting their children to ensure driveways and pavements are not blocked along the main routes to the school gates.

We encourage families to walk, cycle or scoot to school and have a bicycle shelter and scooter park in the main Key Stage 2 playground.  There are other areas in the EYFS and Key Stage 1 playground for children to store bikes and scooters.

Morning break
10.30am or 10.45 am

Lunch break
12.00pm (KS1) 12:15pm (KS2) to 1.20 pm

Year 1
classes take a short break of 15 minutes during the afternoon.

School closes
3.30 pm.

Children remain with their teacher in the class or playground until their parent or carer comes to collect them. (Unless the teacher is aware that a child is allowed to walk home on their own).

We ask that the children be collected promptly.  KS1 children will not be dismissed without an adult collecting them.  If a parent’s normal arrangements are altered (e.g if you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please contact the office to inform us.   We will not allow your child home with someone else unless we have been notified.

St Cuthbert’s offers a number of After School Clubs each term from 3.30pm to 4.30pm as well as extended provision before and after school.

Start of the school day

Teachers will be in their classrooms at 8.45am and have a daily activity ready for the children to come in and complete from 8:50am

End of the school day

Children are asked to leave school in an orderly manner. All children will be supervised by their teacher for reasons of Health and Safety. Members of staff will check the playground at the end of the day to ensure that all children in their class have been collected.

Children will stay with the teacher if there is no parent or carer to collect them.

If a child is not collected on time, they will be taken to the office while we try to make contact with a family member.
